New sneakers!
As a runner, it is very important to have good sneakers. I believe that it is not only important to have one pair, but multiple! I have two pairs of sneakers right now that I run in and I really want to go out and buy some more! These are some of the sneakers that I want to get...
Nike Free Run 2
Nike LunarEclipse
Nike Free Run Plus
These sneakers can run anywhere from $90-$140. I own a pair of Nike Free and they are really light! I also like the Nike Air Max.
Especially if I plan to keep running, getting the best shoe is really important. I've been an athlete my whole life and with that I have a slouthe of feet/ankle/ shin issues. I wear special orthodox because I have no arch in my foot. (Yup.. that can actually have an effect on your body) Even though I like these sneakers seen above, I have been doing some research on what shoe best fits for me. At http://www.runnersworld.com/-- there is a section called Shoe Advisor that calculates what type of sneaker you should wear. Here is the website.

According to the Shoe Advisor, the best shoe for me would be....
1. Adidas Adistar Ride 3
2. Nike LunarElite 2
3. New Balance 1064
4. Asics Gel 3020
I guess when I go to the store next time I'll check them out
Anyone who runs have a preference?

Hey Shannon, I usually do a half marathon once a year and have always worn Nikes. If you're looking for the perfect fit, maybe you should go to Runner's Edge in Farmingdale. They have in-person experts who will match you with sneakers based on your foot, gait, and specific needs. I only buy sneakers there now and it's great because they send you running up and down the length of the store and see how your feet are actually landing. Definitely recommend it!
ReplyDeleteReally?? That's amazing!! And you're a runner too!! What half marathons have you done?? I'm doing one in September in East Hampton!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing that you are a runner and every runner should have the right shoes to wear. The shoes you have pictures of are really cool I am not much of a runner, but that is pretty amazing at what you do keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried running barefoot? Its supposed to be better for your feet than sneakers because your body will feel the road better and you (ideally) would have less injuries... Once my boyfriend texts me back, I'll give you the name of the book that deals with this...
ReplyDeleteThe book is called "Born to Run".
DeleteThat is so funny that you mention that book because I am planning to talk about it in one of my posts!
ReplyDeleteWhat if you run barefoot in an area where someone recently "walked their dog"? Yea, all of a sudden running barefoot doesn't sound like such a good idea anymore.
